Hello guys, this week’s article is all about Sanskrit – the vedic language of India.

भाषासु मुख्या मधुरा दिव्या गीर्वाणभारती तस्माद्धि काव्यं मधुरं तस्मादपि सुभाषितम् ॥

Sanskrit/Samskrtam means completed, refined and perfected. Sam – complete and krt – created. It is a primitive vedic language of the Indo-European language family dating back to 1500 BCE. It is considered very sacred to Hinduism, Buddhism and Janism, which is still honored not just as a language, but for its evolution over thousands of years and currently as the official language of Uttarakhand in India. Wiki says that there are about 6,000 to 7,000 languages worldwide and most of them(anywhere between 50% and 90%) are going to be extinct by the year 2100. Stephen R. Anderson, an American linguist estimates that the age of speaking languages might be 60,000 to 100,000 years old. So Sanskrit is just one among the various other languages and we shall discover its…
